What is a blind spot and how do I know what it is when im driving?

A blind spot is an area in your range of vision that you cannot see properly but which you really should be able to see. For example, when you are driving a car, the area just behind your shoulders is often a blind spot.
In the driver's test when they refer to your blind spot, they are usually referring the to area behind you on either side that you cannot see in the side mirrors, it's more or less towards the rear left and right wheel of the car
