You need to apply for a PDF (Professional Driving Permit), previously called a public drivers permit or (PRDP) for:
  • Vehicles used for transporting passengers for profit
  • Goods vehicles that are greater than 3500kg
  • A vehicle that carries dangerous or hazardous goods
  • Road tankers that carry flammable fuel such as petrol, diesel, paraffin etc
  • Break down vehicles such as tow trucks
  • Buses and Minibuses that carries 12 or more passengers
Vehicles that carry passengers for profit include taxis, meter cabs, transfer and charter services. The total passengers count always includes the driver. So 12 passengers as above includes the driver.
