I didn't receive my license renewal reminder in the post this year, my cars license expired the end of last month and my bakkie is expiring soon.

You can renew your cars license at any traffic department in the City your car is registered in.
Without the renewal letter you will only need your ID, your proof of address and you may need to complete a Green ALV form which they will give you.
The Green ALV from is a single page document where you complete your details and the details of the vehicle.
Take a picture of the old license disk because you will need to the particulars of the VIN number, Register number and Engine number for the form
