lost cars papers

I can't find my cars papers, vehicle certificate of ownership. I bought the car from vw barons in 2010. Can I get a new one, will a copy suffice and where would I apply for a replacement document.

I'm in the process of selling my car and Considering Webuycars.

A copy won't work at the traffic departments. You must have the original papers
