Expired cars license during Corona lock…

I am unable to renew my cars license disk because the queues at the traffic departments are too long. My disk expired at the end of Febuary and I've been driving the my car on the 21 day grace period.

Amidst the Corona virus lock down, has there been any mention of leniency in this regard over the forth coming weeks.

Yes it has. The minister of transport issued a statement. It available at

He says:

During the lockdown period most services rendered by our entities will be suspended. Vehicle Testing Centres and Drivers’ Licence Testing Centres (DLTCs) will be closed. Should your drivers’ licence expire during the duration of the lockdown it shall be deemed to remain valid until the end of the lockdown, with the grace period of renewal within 14 working days thereafter unless otherwise determined.
